The Marshall House is truly the best place to be during the Christmas season. My family and I booked a stay at the JW Marriott before our time at the Marshall House, and we were amazed to find that the Marshall House made our experience at the Marriott feel almost dystopian in comparison. It’s undoubtedly the finest accommodation in Savannah, enriched with a fascinating history and captivating stories to share. The entertainment and wine hour is lacklustre, and the breakfast is awful however that is easily made up for by spectacular rooms, and a captivating history. The coffee is very good compared to other hotel coffee as well.

Staying at The Marshall House feels like stepping back in time without giving up any modern comfort. From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with warm smiles, personal attention, and a real sense of pride in sharing the hotel’s history. They did not just hand us a key, they invited us to be part of the story. One of the highlights was the evening happy hour in the lobby, where guests gather over wine and conversation while learning about the building’s past. It is a small touch, but it captures the true spirit of Savannah — gracious, social, and full of charm. Our room was everything we hoped for, beautifully preserved with period details yet clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was nice and cold after a warm day exploring the city, and the bed was so comfortable it was hard to leave in the morning. The Marshall House blends history, hospitality, and comfort in a way few hotels manage. It is easy to see why it is one of Savannah’s most beloved places to stay. We will definitely return, not just to visit Savannah again but to stay here once more.

I cannot say enough about The Marshall House. The services were excellent! The staff was great, helpful and personable. The breakfast was amazing; good to the last cup of coffee. The evening cheese and wine was great too! If you are looking for a nostalgic feeling this is it! It felt like being apart of history but with electric, lol. There is definitely a part of history that still lives there. I would highly recommend staying.

Charming Inn nestled in a very convenient location in downtown Savannah. For me, it was the highlight of our weekend getaway. Staff were all welcoming and attentive. I appreciated the historical feel of the inn, creaking of a few boards and original fireplaces. However, it’s well maintained for a comfortable stay. We loved the evening wine down with entertainment in the lobby and the restaurant style breakfast was a unique bonus for a hotel stay. I would most certainly stay here again and recommend to anyone that enjoys a cozy, unique hotel with a slightly mysterious atmosphere

This is a charming and historic hotel right in the middle of Savannah. It is an easy walk to the riverfront and many fine restaurants. The staff is very friendly. Includes a reasonably good breakfast( bad coffee) and wine and mild entertainment in the evening. The problems were more with the room itself. Our classic king was tiny which was not unexpected given the hotel. However, the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows hard as stone. The HVAC fan was loud which fortunately we slept through as we are pretty hard sleepers. The small bathroom has hot and cold in the a sink that could not be regulated. It is a quaint hotel and if you don’t mind some of its drawbacks it may be for you. Not for me next time.

Great place to stay. Very hospitable staff. Justin was very friendly and helpful with our vehicle (vallet) and luggage. The daily complimentary happy hour was delightful, and the restaurant has excellent food. The room was well appointed, however, it was very hot, and didn't seem to matter what you set the thermostat to. Also, it would have been helpful to have had more hooks for hanging towels/clothes in the bathroom along with a small table/stool to set things on. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and the hotel is perfectly located. We will be back!

Best hotel that I’ve stayed in in a long time. Amazing staff. Valet parking very easy with bellhop to help with luggage. Very fast elevator to our room. High ceilings. Slightly creaky floors that goes along with the ambience of the historic hotel. Small but very comfortable room and mattress with good lighting and wardrobe for our clothing. Good temperature control in the room Loved the bathroom! Even took a tub bath! Complementary sit down served breakfast in the morning was just right. Coffee in the lobby was so tasty. Close to everything in Savannah! Only suggestions are to put the free bottles of water in the room itself and train the concierge a little better on events and things happening in the area.

Stayed at the Marshall House four nights the first week in December and I have to say, the service and accommodations were great! The hotel was perfectly located on Broughton street within walking distance to all attractions, stores and restaurants galore. Dana was kind and very helpful while at the front desk as well as at the concierge and is full of positive energy. The entire hotel staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and 5pm wine and cheese with nightly guitarist singing favorite songs. We also had dinner at the restaurant 45 Deck accessible from inside the hotel. The food was delicious too! I was so happy that we booked our vacation in Savannah at The Marshall House while enjoying this historical city!
